Swap / Rollover Calculator
The swap calculator (also called rollover calculator) shows the total overnight financing cost or income for holding a forex position over multiple days. Swap rates are applied at the end of each trading day (5pm New York time) and depend on the interest rate differential between the two currencies in the pair. Positive swaps earn you money; negative swaps cost you.
Swap rate is in USD per standard lot per day. Check your broker for exact rates. Triple swap applies on Wednesdays for most brokers (for weekend positions).

Formula
Total Swap = Lot Size × Swap Rate ($/lot/day) × Days Held
Note: Triple swap on Wednesday covers Saturday and Sunday.Multiply the lot size by the daily swap rate and by the number of calendar days held. Most brokers apply a triple swap on Wednesday night to compensate for the 3-day settlement cycle over the weekend. If you hold through Wednesday, your weekly swap = 2 regular days + 1 triple day = 5 days of swap in 3 days.
Worked Example
Position: Long EUR/USD Lot size: 2 standard lots Swap rate: −$0.80 per lot per day (you pay) Days held: 5 (Monday through Friday, with Wednesday triple swap) Simple estimate: 2 × (−$0.80) × 5 = −$8.00 Note: Actual charge may be higher if Wednesday (triple swap) falls within your holding period. Check your broker's exact swap schedule and rates.
