Converted Amount = (Amount ÷ From Rate vs USD) × To Rate vs USD
Exchange Rate (From→To) = To Rate (vs USD) ÷ From Rate (vs USD)All currencies are first converted to USD as a base, then converted to the target currency. This two-step calculation works for any currency pair without needing a direct quote. The exchange rate shown is the direct cross rate between the two selected currencies.
Worked Example
Convert 1,000 GBP to EUR (Indicative rates: 1 USD = 0.787 GBP, 1 USD = 0.919 EUR) GBP to USD: 1,000 ÷ 0.787 = $1,270.01 USD to EUR: $1,270.01 × 0.919 = €1,167.14 Exchange rate: 1 GBP = 1.1672 EUR (approximately) Note: Actual rates from your bank or broker will include a spread and may differ from these indicative mid-market rates.
